[Blog News] Cassiopeia, SM and DBSK’s Trio’s “Plea for Reconciliation Signature Campaign”

The “Plea for Reconciliation Signature Campaign” among Cassiopeia, DBSK’s Micky Yoochun, Xiah Junsu, Youngwoong JaeJoong and SM Entertainment (otherwise known as SM) has officially begun.

A DBSK fan from Japan spoke on the afternoon on the 21st on minitoday star news, expressing that, “For the DBSK whom we have cared about and supported so much, the online signature campaign asking for a negotiation of settlement between DBSK’s trio and SM has begun.”

The association also mentioned, “With an 800,000 strong fan club membership, and such a large-scale fan daum, when faced with the crisis of a sudden dissolution of DBSK, nothing brings more anguish to the fans than this issue. We hope the three members and SM will be able to settle their differences and have a successful negotiation, so that DBSK’s activities can resume.”

There are the Korean, Japanese, Chinese and English versions on the website of the signature campaign. This campaign is not just limited to local fans in Korea, but international DBSK fans are also allowed to participate!

This campaign was started based on the unconditional trust placed upon the numerous fans of DBSK, along with a minority of fans who may have a different thinking and opinion.
The purpose of initiating this campaign is not to ask for a termination of the contract of the three members, but to get them and SM to coordinate for a more sensible solution.

In addition, based on the first public trial between the three members and SM company held on the 7th, if both sides still remains unchanged in their stand, the differences between them will still not be resolved.

DBSK’s three members had submitted an application of deposition to the Seoul Central District Court on 31st July 2009 regarding the termination of the exclusive contract with SM.
Furtheremore, the following part of the decision cited the Department on 27th October 2009 that “SM is not allowed to stop DBSK’s activities unilaterally. SM’s objection regarding the solo activities of DBSK was also rejected.”

Yoochun "Rides a Horse"

DBSK’s Park Yoochun has been reported to be getting the jitters over his next drama role as Lee Seonjun, a pretty but overbearing momma’s boy, in the drama SungKyunKwan Scandal and it’s no surprise why.

“As the eve of the first shooting drew near, Yoochun started to practice his lines. He had received a lot of help from the seniors who are acting with him,” a representative of Yoochun told Osen over the phone on the 20th, “Because the words and tone used in the drama differs from modern day conversation, he has been spending more time and effort to practice [his speech]. He is also currently learning how to ride a horse.”


The representative also added, “As this is the first time that Yoochun is challenging acting, he is feeling both excited and worried at the same time. He is quite distressed over his own role and is in the midst of preparing himself well. We hope that everyone will look forward to and support his performance.”


SungKyunKwan Scandal is scheduled to hit televisions in September and the full cast list should be confirmed within the next week or so as they start filming. SungKyunKwan Scandal is based on Jung Eun Gweol’s popular novel, The Lives of SungKyunKwan Confucian Scholars. Let’s hope that like the books the drama is a great success and Yoochun stays safe on those horses.

KangIn receives warrant for army enlistment in October, but earlier enlistment is possible

Super Junior member KangIn (25) has received a warrant from Office of Military Manpower Administration (MNA) to enlist into the army in October.

But on 22nd May, according to a SM Entertainment representative, there is possibility that KangIn will enlist earlier. The reason is that KangIn has already signed up for enlistment at the MNA.

The SM rep said, “If KangIn’s application for enlistment is acceptable, we were informed that he will be in July.” It is known that KangIn will be enlisting as rank 2, determined by a physical examination he took.

Caught in controversies like assault and drink driving last year, KangIn did not participate in Super Junior’s recent 4th album promotions, and announced his decision of enlisting into the army via a post he posted up on Super Junior’s fancafe.

It has become a topic after Super Junior Shindong's personal history is revealed on a show from a cable TV.

On the show SBS E!TV "Star Q10", Super Junior members had talked about their background has become a hot topic, especially when singer Hyunsook revealed that Shindong once was her back-dancer on the stage before he got an award at a contest of SM and become a trainee there.

Super Junior Kim HeeChul to MC for Dream Concert for the 3rd consecutive year

Super Junior Kim HeeChul will be MC for Dream Concert for the 3rd consecutive year.

A SM Entertainment representative told Newsen on 21st May, “Kim HeeChul will be the MC for Dream Concert tomorrow (22nd May).”

Kim Heechul will be emceeing with Shin Sekyung and 2PM's Taecyeon for Dream Concert 2010 on the 22nd at 7 PM. 

Kim Heechul was chosen as the MC for Dream Concert in 2008 and has continued for three years due to his energetic, youthful image.

Dong Bang Shin Ki trio’s new group name ‘J.Y.J’?

Ahead of their Japanese fanmeeting concert coming June, it is known that Dong Bang Shin Ki Xiah JunSu, Micky YooChun and Hero JaeJoong will promote under the nickname of ‘J.Y.J’.

Previously an official announcement came that the group will discontinue their activities as Dong Bang Shin Ki after the 3 members’ discord with their agency SM Entertainment. And coming 5th June, the 3 members will hold a large scale fanmeeting concert in Tokyo Dome, and they will be holding the concert as ‘J.Y.J’ made up of the initials of each of the members.

A representative of the 3 members revealed on 19th May, “Ahead of their event, AVEX has decided to go with ‘J.Y.J’ for the logo for the concert. Even though they will promote as J.Y.J for the concert, it is not their confirmed group name. We will not know the group name until AVEX releases an official announcement.”

SM’s Application To “Enhance” “Dong Bang Shin Ki” As A Trademark Has Been Withdrawn

SM, the company which manages DBSK, has been informed about its withdrawal regarding its trademark application for the name “Dong Bang Shin Ki”.

SM, who had applied for the trademark application for “DBSK” to the Patent Office in August last year, later withdrew their application towards the end of the year.

A SM spokesperson cleared the issue with Newsen on the 19th over the phone, stating that “it is a fact that we withdrew the trademark application for the name “DBSK” late last year” and “[we hereby also] announce that the enhanced document is also withdrawn.”.

While the trademark application is currently cancelled, one cannot rule out the possibility that SM might once again apply for the enhancement of the trademark name of “DBSK”.

[100520/SJ]Super Junior tops album charts with "BONAMANA"

Asian pop sensation Super Junior has topped several album charts with their fourth full-length album "BONAMANA," according to their agency SM Entertainment on Tuesday. 

A press from SM revealed that the group conquered the weekly and daily album charts of music distributors Hanteo, Hot Tracks and Yes 24 since the release of "BONAMANA" Version A last Thursday. 

Figures from Hanteo indicated that the record sold over 70,000 copies in just five days, becoming the album to sell the most number of copies in the shortest time span so far this year.

The fourth full-length album had racked up 200,000 preorders, another record for the 13-member boy band who had received up to 150,000 preorders for their previous top-selling album.

Version B of "BONAMANA" will go on sale on May 20 featuring behind-the-scene photos from the group's stage performances and music video shoots. 

The boys recently gave their comeback performance on televised music programs last weekend singing the titled track "BONAMANA" and "Boom Boom." 

They will be promoting the new album with only ten members since members Kang-in is planning on entering the army to fulfill his mandatory two-year service, Kibum will be focusing on his acting career and Hangeng is currently embroiled in a legal battle with SM. 

Super Junior made their debut in 2005 with their first album "SuperJunior05 (TWINS)" and have also released several other studio albums including "Don't Don" and "Sorry, Sorry"

Choi Siwon, 2PM, 2NE1, SNSD and others pray for Thailand

As many of you know, there’s much bloodshed in Thailand right now because of the sensitive political situation. But some Korean stars are feeling sad about the situation and have come together for a praying session for them.

On May 19th, Super Junior’s Choi Siwon posted a group picture of their praying session on his Twitter and actress Ryeo Won, SNSD’s Tiffany, Yoona, Sooyoung and Hyoyeon, 2NE1’s Minzy and 2PM’s Taecyeon were sighted. Siwon wrote, “Please pray for Thailand ! HOLY SPIRIT come to Thailand ! Be safe :) !!”

The biggest surprise however was seeing Minzy in the picture. Who ever said YG artists kept to themselves? We just don’t see it on the surface.

It’s really nice of them do a thing like this even though they are far away from Thailand and I’m sure they are worried sick about the safety of their fans and families too. Let’s all hope that things will improve in Thailand soon!

Hankyung to release solo Mandarin album

The last we heard of Hankyung was when he updated his fans about his life, but now it seems like fans will be seeing more of him!’
